Sato's Workshop

I gather wild mountain grapes that grow naturally in the mountains of Kita-Karuizawa and use them to craft baskets and small accessories. I venture into the mountains and perform every step of the process by hand—from harvesting the vines to tanning the leather, making the strips, weaving, finishing, and crafting the inner linings. I would be delighted if as many people as possible could discover the charm of mountain grapes.
